Working towards digitally empowering people
By Dr. Manisha Bose
When one thinks of Aptech in Bangkok, Rattan Anthony comes to every one’s mind. Today she has her own Company Advance Systems and she has been educating and empowering people digitally for the past 3 decades . In the last 20 years of my stay in Bangkok, I have met young girls and their moms who have benefited by Rattan’s effort of digital empowerment.
I approached her to tell her story to Bangkokscoop as a part of #WomanPower a Global Movement ‘s endeavor to present strong women to inspire us all. Very happy and proud to have her on board to further guide and shape the movement.
An Electronic & Telecomm person academically, the first blow was to not get a field job being a girl and that led to wandering around to see what other options could be possible. In 1994, landed as an Aptechite and till date I remain an Aptechite. With several International Certifications including Microsoft, Java and Python in pocket , my motive has been to make my students independent as far as I can.
The one who continuously – recursively makes itself useless – is the Best Teacher
With these lines ringing all time in mind, education became the field which I was able to endeavor parallel with the home and child responsibilities.
With an almost 30 years of experience in teaching all age groups from 6 year to 60+ year old professionals, God has given me the insight on how humans think and I use that knowledge in making them think in a productive way. That sums the success I have today with nearly 200-400 students learning per year with A* scores in IB/IG curriculum , with Jobs in Facebook and other leading companies around the world.
Carrying the legacy and love of Aptech in heart, today , I have my own institute as Advance Systems Co., Ltd, in the residential area of Rama III at Narathiwas Soi 24. Along with face to face trainings, Online Zoom lessons are also an option that students opt and benefit from.

Songkran Spirit Soars as Govt Goes All Out for the Festivities
The government has announced full support for this year’s Songkran Festival, ordering state agencies to prepare grand events for the holiday period from April 13-15.
According to Government Spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri, the administration expects a significant increase in tourist numbers, with around 17-20 million people traveling around the country next month.
The government has launched campaigns to encourage people to travel during public holidays from now until September under the TAT’s “Visit Thailand Year: Amazing New Chapters” scheme, as well as through campaigns such as We Travel Together, Wonder Deal and Secret Code 365. These campaigns are expected to boost domestic tourism in April and attract more yearly tourist spending.
To ensure tourists’ safety during the festival, Deputy Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek urged Thai and foreign visitors to install the I Lert U mobile application. The app, developed by the Tourist Police, provides a 24-hour service where users can lodge complaints or call for help. It also uses the phone’s GPS signal to locate the caller and send assistance.
The I Lert U app is available in multiple languages, including Thai, English, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Arabic and most languages used in Southeast Asia.
Bangkok has been ranked as the 30th best city in the world
According to Resonance Consultancy, Bangkok, a popular tourism consulting company, has been ranked as the 30th best city globally and the second-best in ASEAN.

The People category takes into account the labor force participation rate and educational attainment of the local population. The Prosperity category meanwhile evaluates factors such as the presence of global leading companies, GDP, employment rates and income equality. Next, the Programming category considers cultural events, nightlife experiences, quality restaurants, and shopping destinations.
